Should You Try to Repair Your iPhone Yourself

IPhones are not known for breaking easily and most of them will run their course and never have any problems at all. However, if your iPhone does break, then you basically have two options. You can either try to fix it yourself or take it to the Apple professionals and let them repair it

The two most common things that will need to either be replaced or repaired on the iPhone is that the screen will break or the battery will need to be replaced. Both of these things can be done by an individual. However, there is a big risk that comes with trying to replace your screen or your battery yourself.

If you are trying to replace the screen or battery yourself you run the risk of damaging your iPhone so that it is beyond repair. If your iPhone is under warranty and you try to replace the screen or battery yourself you could lose your Apple warranty.
The benefits of trying to replace these two items yourself is that is much more cost effective than having a professional do it. If you are very technically inclined and have worked repairing phones and computers all of your life, then it very well could be worth your time to attempt to perform your own iPhone repair.
If you have no experience repairing electronics before then it is probably best left to the professionals. If you are worried about money instead of taking your iPhone directly to Apple to be repaired you can take it to a third-party Apple certified technician that can perform iPhone repair for a fraction of a cost of taking your iPhone to Apple itself.
IPhone repair is typically not that expensive compared the cost of replacing your iPhone. For an iPhone screen replacement you are looking at spending anywhere from $100 to $150 for it to be repaired by a certified Apple technician. If you try to fix it yourself it could cost you somewhere around the $50 range.
You ultimately have to determine if you can repair your iPhone yourself or if you should leave it up to the professionals. Either way you should determine to that it is a good investment to repair your iPhone over replacing your iPhone unless it is time for you to upgrade your iPhone.
